Selma Housing Authority receives Health, Safety and Security Grant grant from HUD

Health, Safety and Security Grant from HUD

Selma Housing Authority (SHA) has received a $222,000 Health, Safety and Security Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

“We are most appreciative that HUD has chosen to partner with us on this important initiative,” said SHA President Kennard Randolph. “For our residents and their families, this is a positive step in accomplishing our mission.”

The funds will be used to purchase carbon monoxide detectors in all of the SHA units that have natural gas fueled appliances, as well as two “sniffers” that maintenance staff will use to search for carbon monoxide leaks.
